Philippe GUEIT

 
Born in Marseille in 1961, after two high school diplomas (mathematics and literature), Philippe GUEIT continues his studies in Aix-Marseille University. With a mastery of musicology, he is, since 1985 , a lecturer in the University of Provence. After studies of piano at the Lycée Musical de Marseille, he obtains in 1978 a first price unanimously, in 1980 a license of concert unanimously. He studies the organ with Sauveur BRUSCHINI and becomes in 1987 titular of the Cavaillé-Coll organ in Saint Joseph church (Marseille). He works with Jean GUILLOU whom he plays and steers several works in world creation in Paris (Saint Eustache 1991). Prize-winner of the Laurent VILBERT foundation ( Lourmarin ), he participates in trainings of composition : Siena with F.DONATONI, Aix-en-Provence with H. DUTILLEUX and W. LUTOSLAWSKI). In 1987, he obtains the golden medal unanimously in Aix-en-Provence Conservatoire as conductor. And the same year, he is received in the Conservatoire of Geneva for orchestra conducting. Professor of first-sight reading in the National Conservatoire of Region (Marseille), Philippe GUEIT is, since 1992 , responsible for regional programming on Radio-classic. He recorded a disc of " Romantic Christmas " on the Saint Joseph organ, works of Lucien GUERINEL, Jacques LENOT with the National Orchestra of France supervised by Jacques MERCIER and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, direction Pierre BOULEZ, and works by Jean GUILLOU for Philips.
